01:30PM Indies and Artists (12AB)
- With all due respect, it's been a couple of weeks now and I don't what was talked about.
04:15PM Them (Alamo Lamar 2) Recommened
- It's a French horror flick with the problem of presenting the conflict early on but not really giving a good reason as to way it's happening to this couple living in the country.
07:30PM Cashback (Dobie) Highly Recommened
- Thank god the British are not afraid of full nudity. I'm talking front to back and from underneath. That all being said, please do not shy away from this very well made film. I feel I might have already scared you away. Please have a read of the film's sysnopsis.
When art student Ben Willis is dumped by his girlfriend Suzy, he develops insomnia. To pass the long hours of the night, he starts working the late night shift at the local supermarket. There he meets a colorful cast of characters, all of whom have their own 'art' in dealing with the boredom of an eight-hour-shift. Ben's art is that he imagines himself stopping time. This way, he can appreciate the artistic beauty of the frozen world and the people inside it - especially Sharon, the quiet checkout girl, who perhaps holds the answer to solving the problem of Ben's insomnia.

07:00PM Disturbia (Alamo Downtown) Highly Recommended:::::
I did start an entry for SXSW 2007: Day 2, but it quickly fell by the wasteside. By the second day, I was becoming overwhelmed with it all. Here it is in all of its ugliness.
SXSW 2007: Day 2
The first item to be done as I drove into Austin was to purchase tickets to ZZ Top at The Backyard. I hastily made me way to Waterloo Records. As I pulled into the small parking lot, I couldn't help but notice the line of people waiting for the store to open. They were all there for the same reason I was. About twenty minutes later, I was out the door with two tickets.
Second item was to find free parking. As on Day 1, I parked across from Republic Square. While putting on my fully loaded notebook backpack, I wondered to myself. Whey the hell did I put so much stuff into the damn thing. It's a gorgeous backpack and all, but damn it. The eight block walk to the Austin Convention Center was pretty uneventful. I did have to stop midway to put on by Platinum badge. I jolted to the top level with plenty of time to spare as the A Conversation with: Bill Paxton panel hadn't started yet. Soon enough, Bill comes out to applause. He even brought along his father, who he is close to. I was surprise to learn, Bill has been a film maker since his high school days shooting with 8mm film. That's 8mm, not Super 8mm. Yes, he relived the good ol' days of Chet Donnelly from Weird Science. It was a great panel.
From now on, I'll just be giving you highlights.

11:00AM A Conversation with: Bill Paxton (16AB)- Really enjoyed this, as stated above.
01:00PM A Conversation with: Richard Linklater (16AB)
- Finally, I was in the same room with Richard Linklater. Mark it off my list.
03:30PM TV: The Next Generation (12AB)
- Alex Lindsay was at the mic to ask the panel a question or two.
05:00PM Production Companies 2.0: Taking Online Video to the Next Level (12AB)
- Robert Scoble jumped on mic in the middle of the panel, before questions from the audience started.
09:30PM Everything's Gone Green (Alamo Downtown) Highly Recommended
- I kept thinking Zach Braff would have done this moive.
11:59PM Black Sheep (Alamo Downtown) Highly Recommended
- The best movie audience during SXSW.
It's three days after SXSW 2007 and I'm still not full recharged. It didn't help that I drove back to Austin on Sunday, which was actually the real, final day (10) of SXSW. There were only three venues showcasing music, but I didn't go. The next day (Monday) I returned to Austin to catch a double feature at the Alamo Drafthouse Downtown. I need to write an entry for that. This coming Thursday, I'll be back at the Drafthouse for another movie.
As you might guess, for this week I have little time or for that matter, energy. I really do want to write some entries of the various panels and movies I attended. I'll probably keep them short. I have no idea when I'll get around to writing them. Plus I need to go through all of the photos I took and add titles and descriptions. It kind of doesn't help to look at a photo of a person you don't know or don't realize you know. For the time being, I assure you all of the photos I took during SXSW 2007 have been upload to my flickr account.
That's it for this entry of looking back at SXSW 2007. SXSW 2007 photo set.
Stay tuned.
SXSW 2007: Day 7/8/9 photos have been uploaded to my flickr account.
Off to sleep I go.
For Day 7 of SXSW 2007, I had had around 230 photos added to my iPhoto library. A lot of photos tend to be duplicates...sort of. I tend to shoot in "continuous" mode, clicking out four to five shots in a row. Then I go back and delete the ones that are too blurry or if there is simply nothing worth looking at. Day 7 photos thankfully had roughly one handful of photos needing red eye removal. But I also need to go through the others and crop or adjust there settings.
It'll all be over soon.
So busy, so little sleep. Last night I finally managed to get a whole whopping five hours of sleep. There's still two more days left for SXSW 2007.
"Stay on target"
Two hours of sleep and I was back at SXSW for Day 6. It was another short day, but a very good one none the less. I've already uploaded all photos to my flickr account.
