I've got Six Part's "Blog It" setup on my iPhone now. Taking it for a test drive.
Hmm... my iPhone. Yeah, you know, the now slower version.
*UPDATE*: It's over... Sonific is offline as of tonight (April 30 / May 1) - but we maybe back soon.
Just the other week, I switched on the Beta Vox features. It's truly painless and easy to do. I wanted to start embedding media into my sidebar. The question quickly became "what to use?" or "what works?" is really more like it.
There's the Flickr badge. It just seemed too redundant for me considering I'm constantly posting my latest photos and linking back to any set I my have created.
The Twitter badge, pretty much works. You need to make a slight adjustment to the width. My only problem with it is I tend to be a slacker Twitter, so there's not much Twiittering from me.
The Last.fm widget still still needs some work. It doesn't completely fit and when you click on a track inside of it, it opens the link within the widget instead of a new tab/webpage. "Boo", get with it already, Last.fm.
And now.
I discovered the Sonific SongSpots widget within, of all places, Six Parts's (makers of Vox) own TypePad Widget gallery. If you're gonna place in your sidebar, set the Target web site to Other (Object & Embed), set it for vertical (of course) and use the size option "Medium", it will set the width to 150 for you and adjust the height to keep the proportions. I set the widget to not start the music automatically.
For a couple of minutes on the latest episode of Net@Nite, Mark Frauenfelder, co-founder of Boing Boing, talks about blog software and states "I llike Vox a lot". Mark, along with Amber MacArthur and Leo Laporte also talk about other Six Part blog software.
