Van Halen: iTunes | Official Site | Last.fm | Wikipedia
Let me make something clear. This concert was indeed Van Halen not Van Hagar. David Lee Roth, a.k.a. Diamond Dave, was back with the boys and they all rocked! Everyone on stage and in the arena was having a great time. Van Halen looked great and sounded awesome. Once again, here was a band from my youth I was finally able to see reunited and live in concert.
Everybody wants some!
I want some too.

Now with photos.
I went to see The Police last night at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, TX. Once again, it was glorious. Previously, I saw them earlier this year when they played at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, TX. Considering that was the first time I got to see The Police play live, it was truly a "holy fuck, I'm actually at The Police concert!" I didn't take my compact digital camera into the Dallas concert. I did sort document the trip. For the San Antonio concert, I had my iPhone.

What does a birthday boy get for himself? How about a floor ticket to see Muse and My Chemical Romance in San Antonio. The last time I "saw" Muse was ACL Music Festival 2006. The reason I say "saw" is because they played towards the end of the first night. I had worked all through the early morning hours, raced home, showered and race up to Austin with no sleep. By the end of Friday night, I was pretty much out of it. I recall sort of seeing Muse that night. Well, last night made up for everything. Muse played a damn fine set, properly ending with Knights Of Cydonia.
My Chemical Romance wasn't about to get 1upd and came out guns blazing with pyrotechnics and all. The highlight of their show came midway. A longtime behind the scenes member was also celebrating his birthday. They brought him out on stage along with a birthday cake and a four piece mariachi band to sing to Happy Birthday. Halfway through, a little burro (donkey) pinata was brought out. They birthday boy dawned a blindfold and took one swing to bust it in half. As the mariachis continued playing, the birthday boy tossed the candy out among the crowed. The another amusing half of the night was all of fourteen year olds keeping the mosh pit going.
