As a fan of the The Swell Season, I received an interesting bulletin via their MySpace page.

The Swell Season
May 5, 2008 7:08 PMDownload a Swell Season gig NOW on playedlastnight.com
Would you like to re-live the experience of a Swell Season gig you have just recently attended to?
OR.....
You haven't been/will not be able to make it to any of the concerts this time around but would love to listen to a full live set performed by Glen and Mar?
Well, now you can just do that and more!
We are recording most of the shows on this tour and the lovely folks at www.playedlastnight.com will make them available for you all for downloading so you can listen to the gigs whenever and wherever you want to.
The cost of downloading a full gig is $9.95 USD. All the recordings are high quality. You can listen to previews of the tracks on their website for free.
Please read the description on the audio files provided by playedlastnight.com for each download!
As of now, playedlastnight.com features two artists, Iron & Wine and The Swell Season.
I'm a fan of live music. I also enjoy listening to multiply concerts from the same artist even if they're from different venues. Not every concert plays the same. The set list can change, one song's perfect performance may never be repeated, the energy from the crowds tend to vary. You don't want to see the number of different concerts I have for Bloc Party, Radiohead, and Sigur Rós.
I'll be keeping an eye on playedlastnight.com. Maybe I've already put it to use...

Subject: Internet Radio Day of SilenceSomaFM is observing a day of silence today, Tuesday, June 26th. We join
thousands of other internet radio stations who have turned off the music
in protest over theridiculously high new royalties that internet radio
must pay to play music.I know that you know all this, and I appreciate your support of SomaFM.
I just wanted to let you know what's up.Most of our channels are running a 30 minute program that features
sounds from the SanFrancisco "Bart" transit system. It's like taking a
virtual ride on the subway in San Francisco interspersed with
announcements about the royalty situation. So we're trying to make it a
little fun.And Elise from Indie Pop Rocks is going to be ranting all day about this
issue on Indie Pop Rocks as well, so if you don't want to read all about
the royalty issue, you can listen to her discuss it on Indie Pop Rocks. The music will be back at 12:01am pacific time on Wednesday, June 27th.
Thanks for your patience.Remember,
SomaFM loves you!
