Yes, I'm still decompressing from SXSW 2008. I'm currently recovering via TV. Speaking of which, I sure many of us have a need for some form of vampire TV series. For now, said series is a Canadian TV series known as Blood Ties. It's by no means, perfect. It's watchable. It's a guilty pleasure. In some ways this show is a modern take on the late 80's show Beauty and the Beast. There's the Beast (vampire) Henry, played by Kyles Schmid, eye candy for female viewers. And there's the Beauty Vicki, played by Christina Cox, eye candy for male viewers. Actually, the show is based on a series of best-selling novels by author Tanya Huff known as the Blood Books. That all being said, this show doesn't have a huge budget. But the producers make up for that with slick lighting, camera angles, editing, and the occasional CG effects. At least give it a try. You can actually watch the episodes online, right now. You'll have to click through to get to the previous episodes.
The US televised broadcast of season 2 begins this Saturday, March 22, 2008 on the Lifetime Real Women channel. Check your local listings, here's central Texas for Time Warner.
